Thanksgiving!

Auliver and Annabelle dressed up for History group this past month as different people from the pilgrims. We have been studying about the pilgrims and the amazing journey they made to America. Auliver told about William Bradford and Annabelle told about the way of life for the pilgrims at Plymouth! They did a great job, and they sure learned a lot!

The "MOOFLOWER"

Wow! I put on four posts today! I am trying to make up for the time when I go awhile without posting! We thought that this was pretty cute. It was in the entrance of the Plimouth Visitors Center!

Plimouth Rock & Mayflower II

The Mayflower II sailed from England to MA in 1957. It was so neat to see what it would have looked like. We were so amazed at how small it actually was. We can't imaging actually having 102 passengers. No wonder they had a hard voyage!

Plimouth Plantation

For "school" we have been studying the early American settlers and the pilgrims. We were so excited to go to Plimouth Plantation last week. The kids had so much fun and we sure learned a lot while we were there. The people at Plimouth act in character and it is so fun to talk to them. While we were there we got to see a women roasting a pig on a spit(?sp?), a man fix a roof of one of the houses, men preparing beems for a new house, animals and many other things. We also go to see a Wampanoag Village and watch a man who had very little clothing work on making a canoe, and women cooking shellfish soup of some sort. If you haven't been there we think you should go sometime!

November Already?

Wow, time has really flown by. I can't believe that it is already November and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. To celebrate, (and to add an exciting field trip of what we have been talking about in school) we are headed to Plimouth Plantation! The kids are really excited and I have to admit that I am quite excited myself because I have never been there before. Hopefully in a few we will have nice pictures to post!
