Darn Sleeper Couch!

This year we are having an adventure, a homeschool adventure! We have been getting a room in our house all set up for school. Normally I try to do most everything by myself but I couldn't lift the big sleeper couch over the banister wall to get it out. I had been waiting and waiting for Arne to help me take it out. Well, the other day he finally had time to help me and we began moving it over the banister onto the stairs where we could just push it out the front door. While we were trying to push it out the door, the bed fell out of the couch and broke through the wall. Needless to say, Arne was not please. (I distinctly remember a few choice words flying out of his mouth.) The couch was stuck. After a few minutes of tugging and pushing and kicking the couch, Arne went to the garage and came back with the chain saw and he began to cut the couch to get it out the door. The kids loved it! And now, we have a nice school room, a scraped up door and doorway and a giant hole in the wall. What an adventure!

Believe it or not, I'm glad to here those crazy things happen to other people besides us. It can be frustrating but at least you have a good story to tell.

Next time, Shaunie, I want a video--imagine the hits you would have gotten on YouTube. "Chainsaw Dad." You could have been famous--even better was he dressed in scrubs? That would have been a hit!

Comment to Stephanie...we watch youtube and would have loved to see it. This post made me laugh. What a picture you painted. I'm sure the kids will remember that for a long time to come.
